FEELINGS OF POWERLESSNESS!
FEELINGS OF POWERLESSNESS!
I don’t know about you but for me there are days I feel so overwhelmed by the weight of everything that seems to be crashing in on me. I get these feelings of absolute powerlessness and I begin to feel like Satan is having a field-day beating me around. You ever feel that way? Maybe you feel that way right now…?
D.L. Moody made a statement that has become a lifesaver for me in these situations. He said, “When a man has no strength, if he leans on God, he becomes powerful.” Satan’s tactic is to get our eyes off of the only One who has the power to overcome him. He will do and act in whatever way necessary to lead our eyes and thoughts away from God…and God’s abilities.
If you are struggling today, refocus, realign your sights…look to God and to His strength and find His peace that passes all understanding. Isaiah said it beautifully when he said: “But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint” (Is 40:31).
Look to the Lord today, mount up with His wings; run without weariness; walk without fainting and stand in the face of the enemy and declare your freedom and independence founded upon the Rock—Jesus Christ!
God bless you this special day!
A THOUGHT TO CONTEMPLATE!
A THOUGHT TO CONTEMPLATE!
A glass window stands before us. We raise our eyes and see the glass; we note its quality, and observe its defects; we speculate on its composition. Or we look straight through it on the great prospect of land and sea and sky beyond. So there are two ways of looking at the world. We may see the world and absorb ourselves in the wonders of nature. That is the scientific way. Or we may look right through the world and see God behind it. That is the religious [Christian] way. ~~ Benjamin B Warfield
AN ENCOURAGING WORD!
AN ENCOURAGING WORD!
Do you feel inept, unqualified, or just not up to it? God understands your feelings, your doubts, your fears. He also knows your heart, and can work mightily in one that’s yielded to Him. You are a diamond – a diamond in the rough – a diamond in the making. Place yourself in the hands of the Master Jeweler, Jesus Christ. Allow Him to chisel you, mould you, and refine you. ~~ Nancy Cobb
A CHALLENGE TO THE BELIEVER
A CHALLENGE TO THE BELIEVER:
When you heart is ablaze with the love of God, when you love other people – especially the ripsnorting sinners – so much that you dare to tell them about Jesus with no apologies, then never fear, there will be results. ~~ Catherine Marshall
SOMETHING TO REALLY THINK ABOUT
SOMETHING TO REALLY THINK ABOUT:
I must confess I never would have been saved if I could have helped it. As long as I could, I rebelled and revolted and struggled against God. When he would have me pray, I would not pray. When he would have me listen to the sound of the ministry, I would not. And when I heard, and the tear rolled down my cheek, I wiped it away and defied him to melt my heart. Then he gave me the effectual blow of grace, and there was no resisting that irresistible effort. It conquered my depraved will and made me bow myself before the scepter of his grace. And so it is in every case. Man revolts against his Saviour, but where God determines to save, save he will. God never was thwarted yet in any one of his purposes. Man does resist with all his might, but all the might of man, tremendous though it be for sin, is not equal to the majestic might of the Most High. ~~ Charles Haddon Spurgeon
